Birmingham’s best outdoor places to drink

From our house shares in Birmingham, we know it’s been a great year for a cold drink and being outside! Congratulations to Birmingham for its wonderful summer. Have a drink on us at Birmingham’s best outdoor places to drink.

1.The Floating Coffee Company

Sat by the canal at Sherborne Wharf, The Floating Coffee Co. is a narrow boat filled with everything you like. Light bites? Yes. Ice cream? Obviously. Coffee? Clearly. Beer too? You know it – it’s fully licensed.

Enjoy your bevs on board, or on the side of the canal. A perfect place to enjoy the summer days.

2.The Old Moseley Arms Beer Festival

The OLD Moseley? But that’s not new! It’s…old!

You’re right – The Old Moseley Arms has already been crowned Brum’s best boozer! But not all beer garden flowers bloom at the same time, and The Old Mosely Arms blooms four times a year.

What you might not know is that the Balsall Hall pub holds four beer festivals a year: one for every season. The summer festival is 23-26 July and is the perfect time to try this amazing pub’s sheltered beer garden. Happy drinking everyone!

3.The Lord Clifden

This trendy urban art bar is a one of the coolest places in the city. Full of vintage features there are always several guest beers on tap and great music on the speakers – the perfect place for today’s Birmingham house sharers.  On Fridays the venue hosts The Collective – their flagship house night. It also has one of the coolest gardens in Birmingham.

4.The Spotted Dog

Okay, we admit it. It is likely to poor it down at some point this summer. But that’s no excuse for sitting inside, especially with The Spotted Dog’s fantastic beer garden. It’s a feat of engineering that has been described as the “finest covered beer garden in the world”. It’d be rude not to…

5. The Red Lion

“Where can I watch the football without missing out on the sunshine,” I hear you cry. The Red Lion is the answer. It describes itself as an “Urban Art Bar” but we just think it’s got soul. Street art mixed with sheltered areas for sports bearing plasma screens make this place a go-to venue this summer.
