The best roof terraces in all of London

A few weeks ago, we wrote about some of the best beer gardens around if you’re in a house share in London, and included The Queen of Hoxton, which we called a “superb roof terrace”. In this article, we expand on that point to bring you some of the capital’s finest roof terraces. Some of these roof terraces might be way out of your league (perhaps not, lucky so-and-so!), and some are lovely public spaces that are perfect summer hang out spots for you and your mates. Here are our top London rooftop picks.

  1. Sushisamba

If you fancy yourself a bit of a Ralph Lauren model, take a trip up Heron Tower and get yourself to Sushisamba. 39 floors up in Central London, you and your friends can eat fresh sushi until your heart’s content. Then you can get on the expensive booze at their rooftop bar decorated by a gloriously lit-up tree as you look out over the city.

  1. Netil 360

Seriously cool, this one. East London’s Netil House is already furiously hip, with its creative community of fashion labels, artists, and marketing types. Add to that a rooftop events space full of Yurts, DJs, and a very, very wide selection of drinks – including hot cocktails – and you’re all set for a great night.

  1. South Kensington 3-bed

Sadly, you can’t just turn up at this incredible 3-bed penthouse in South Ken and expect to be let in for a party, but for one lucky owner, this flat comes with a roof terrace equipped with gym, Jacuzzi and covered dining space. One can dream…

  1. Dalston Rooftop Park

For something a little more tranquil, head to Hackney and visit the Dalston Rooftop Park. As Dalston’s only rooftop garden, this is an outdoor oasis designed to allow you and your friends explore, eat, drink and be merry against the backdrop of the London skyline. Every night, they have a different event on, too, so if you’ve been meaning to get back into your yoga, now’s the time.

  1. No. 2 Upper Riverside @ the Greenwich Peninsula

If you’re ever lucky enough to get into Upper Riverside at the new Greenwich Peninsula development, sneak up to the rooftop and get out on the private riverside roof terrace that overlooks the Thames. Not only does it have spectacular views of the Canary Wharf, it also comes with a 28-metre pool, landscaped gardens and plenty of sun loungers. Live the good life.

Those are just a few of the incredible rooftop terraces across the capital. If you’re looking for a house share in London, you might want to hunt these down and take a look for yourself – unless they’re the private sort, in which case, dream on.
