The Best Christmas Events in London

OK, so we’ve kept our powder dry until December, but now we’re finally in the twelfth month, it’s time to get Christmassy with London’s best Christmas events of 2015!

At EasyRoomate, we love giving. So this year we’re giving you not one, but two gifts! As always, we’re giving you cheap rooms to rent in London on our flat-finder website. And second, as a stocking filler, here’s one compact list of the best festive things to do in London this December.

Merry Christmas!

Monocle Christmas Market, Paddington

Monocle-Christmas-Market,-Paddington

If you haven’t heard of Monocle, maybe it’s because they don’t use any social media. They’re a global affairs magazine for the New Age men and women who want to explore the world and be damn successful (not to mention sexy) at the same time. Basically, what we’re saying is, you can trust these cool, stylish, globally-aware trendies to put on the best Christmas Market you’ve ever seen.

Christmas Dinner at the Hoxton Hotel

If you can’t make it home this Christmas, the Hoxton Grill in the Hoxton Hotel is a great place to get your fill of Christmas dinner. It won’t be like Mumsy used to make it, but maybe that’s actually a good thing? Plus you’ll also get to avoid your drunk Great-Aunt Ethel and your cousin’s new boyfriend Gareth… bloody Gareth.

Christmas Events in London

The House Clearance House Party: Christmas Special, Bloomsbury Lanes

You won’t often catch us recommending you go to Bloomsbury Lanes, but Christmas is a time of giving, and that extends to club nights, too! The House Clearance Party have a wonderful thing going where every record they play on the night is given away to a lucky audience member. This has obvious pros and cons… but it’s worth a go if you want to stock up on low-quality wax to impress Santa.

Weirdos for Christmas #1: An Alternative Panto, Heroes Grotto of Comedy

Weirdos-for-Christmas-1-

Pantos divide Britain like the milk-first/water-first tea dilemma. But you’re not going to throw away your nice hot cup of tea just because someone put the milk in first, really, are you? And you’re not going to refuse to see a comedy show featuring Beth Vyse, Lindsay Sharman and Pat Cahill just because it’s a Panto are you? Thought not. All proceeds to Great Ormond Street Hospital, too!

Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park

Just kidding.

This is hell on earth and is to be avoided at all costs. If you bring your friends here, the only gifts you’ll find are ruined shoes, long queues and astronomical prices. How much for 20ml ‘shot’ of warmed Jägermeister? £4?! No thanks, Scrooge.

So there we have it. Gift #1: cheap rooms to rent in London via Easyrommate.com. Gift #2: a whole month full of great Christmas activities.

Ho! Ho! Ho! And stay in touch for more Christmas freebies from the EasyRoomate team!
