London rental standard: Saving you money and time

Easyroommate is actively working in partnership with the Mayor of London, on the London Rental Standard. Helping landlords become more informed, to improve the overall quality of the market. We only want the best for our customers.

London Rental Standard: What is it?

The London Rental Standard is a set of minimum requirements that the Mayor expects from landlords. It aims to raise professional standards in London’s private rental sector. The Mayor of London has partnered with  seven accreditation schemes to deliver the Standard by encouraging landlords to attend an accreditation training course. The course outlines landlords’ rights and responsibilities to help them feel more informed and to improve life for London’s renters.

Why is it positive for tenants?

The Mayor hopes to encourage more landlords to become accredited and set themselves apart from rogue landlords and agents who neglect their responsibilities towards tenants.

To sum up, tenants with an accredited landlord should expect:

  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • A higher level of competence

And for landlords?

Landlords will be trained, informed and more professional.

To sum up, landlords will get:

  • Access to offers and incentives via the Mayor’s London Rental Standard partners
  • Training and information
  • Peace of mind that they are complying with the law
  • Advice on how to maintain a good relationship with their tenants
