Four Last Minute Ways to See London Fireworks This Bonfire Night

You forgot to get tickets? Again?! Don’t worry we have your back this bonfire night.

We’ve done some digging, and found the best last-minute places to see the London fireworks.

Richmond

Get in on that special community-feel left behind by the Rugby World Cup by seeing the Richmond Family Fireworks. There’s live entertainment and a funfair! Plus the display is going to be set to a Michael Jackson medley.

Hell – we’d go for the MJ alone! Although a ticketed event, luckily for you there are still tickets available on the gate from 4.30pm!

The Shard

Victoria Park has sold out! What are we to do! Never fear…

It isn’t an official event, but when it comes to seeing pyrotechnics, if you nab a spot on the Shard’s lofty viewing platform, you’ll see every firework launched across London. You won’t miss so much as someone lighting a cigarette in Putney, we promise.

If you’re not convinced, check out these pictures from the Shard from previous years’ bonfire nights. Amazing stuff, right? Get tickets here.

Alexandra Palace

The display at Ally Pally is always incredible. Its big, bold bit of flashy Victorian architecture frames the fireworks above beautifully.

But who needs the official display! Ally Pally’s grounds are on top of a huge hill, which means you’ll be able to see displays popping and flashing all across the city to the south. Bargain! Just wander up the hill with your Crouch End flatmates with a blanket and some sloe gin for an awesome evening.

The Late Option…

Lord-Mayor’s-Show

OK so if Bonfire Night has crept up on you and you’re totally too late, don’t worry! As someone with a house in London, you get a second chance.

The Lord Mayor’s Show is a grand state occasion stretching back centuries – even Samuel Pepys was impressed by the display, and he saw some serious London fireworks (get it?). When night falls, there’s a big firework show down by the river. Who needs bonfire night!
